Hey Folks!

I just sold a copy of my graphic novel to Jarrett down at Comic Factory IV in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Winnipeggers, please go to the store and ask him to carry more copies of it, and of course convince him to do this by buying it! Thanks for all your support! You can order it directly from the good folks at IndyPlanet!

Jeremy draws Sleepers’ Mom somewhat differently than I did. (Mine’s the one on the left.)

Michael explains that Sleepers is imagining his mom in the Black Whip’s costume, whereas in the new issue we get to see her as she actually appears. Which would mean that Sleepers is crazy and has a reverse Oedipal complex. Maybe he’ll snap and start Dextering the other characters! I’d read that comic.

I finished the cover for Diaperman #14. I’m up to page ten in colouring, and Jeremy’s up to page 14. We’ve set a due date for January 24, so things are ticking right along!

We’re almost all set for the Central Canada Comic-Con over Halloween weekend! Everything’s packed, and 25 issues of the Spanker comic are on their way! U.S. Postal Service, so hopefully things will work out with that. Hoo! Stressful.

Greetings poo believers!

Sorry about the silence on this site, but lots has been going on in Diaperman world. First, issue 14 is well under way, and I’d like to introduce new artist Jeremy Thew, whose art makes me want to curl into a ball and weep like a hungry, angry baby.

This issue is written, as always, by Michael McAdam, who is lettering it as well, and I’m doing the colours. But more importantly than that is that it’s being printed by Ka-Blam whose prices are stunningly more reasonable than Lulu’s–so much so that #14 will once again be in full lifelike Technicolour, and the world will finally, finally know what colour Slasher’s panties are.

I’m lying.

(Or am I?)

Once the issue’s finished and up for sale, we will post a link to it in the sidebar at the left. Or, if you’re around Manitoba way, it should debut, Dog willing, at the Central Canada Comic Con, Halloween weekend in Winnipeg.

Also debuting in Winnipeg, in this case for sure because I have finished it and it is at the printer now getting a proof copy done, is my spinoff one-shot Spanker comic!

As posted previously, I drew it about a hundred years ago (three) and have now finished it off, which makes it the only comic ever to be written, drawn, inked and lettered entirely by me. So, of course, now comes the post-partum depression.

They grow up… so fast.

And finally, the Diaperman Graphic Novel (also called Diaperman: The Complete Series, and laterDiaperman: The Complete First Series when there inconveniently became more of it) has also been reformatted to Ka-Blam’s specifications, which makes it slightly smaller and around half the price as the Lulu version. Which is very exciting. Its link on the sidebar will also be updated soon.

For 24 Hour Comic Day a few years ago I wrote and penciled a 24-page Spanker one-shot comic. I inked some of it, but by about 3 am Lisa and I weren’t producing anything useful and we decided to throw it in.

It sounds all reasonable when I say it now, but at the time we wanted to diiiie.

Anyway, sometime after that I finished inking the thing, and it’s sat around until now. The script for Diaperman #14 is written, and Jeremy Thew, the new artist, is hard at work on it, but hopefully this will tide you over in the meantime!

We hope to have both comics ready for the Central Canada Comic-Con in Manitoba at the end of October.

Here’s the first page!

Michael got a heck of a nice fan letter from someone who’s been reading Diaperman since issue 4, and wondered what it would be like if Diaperman were in the Marvel Universe and met Wolverine. He passed the question on to me.

It would be like this.
